A lovely old bottle of the Buchanan's De Luxe blended Scotch whisky, bottled with a spring cap and Queen Elizabeth's Royal Warrant at some point most likely in the late 1950s.
Although Buchanan's is rarely seen in the UK nowadays, the brand was a force to be reckoned with at the time, with both this De Luxe blend and the Buchanan's standard Black & White blend among the most popular and best-selling whiskies of their day. These old blends had a much higher malt whisky content than today's blended whiskies, and the quality is always exceptional.

Raisin and chocolate aroma and a taste of sherry with dried fruits and nuts and a little spice. Dry almost savoury despite the fruits with wine gums in the finish. (Taken with a good slug of water).
