Torabhaig's Inaugural Release Announcement

We’re delighted to announce the imminent arrival of Torabhaig’s Inaugural Release single malt whisky to Whisky-Online Shop!

The first release from Mossburn Distillers’ Torabhaig distillery has suffered a couple of pandemic delays but we reckon it’ll be worth the wait. Torabhaig is only the second (legal) distillery on the Isle of Skye and began production in 2017.

Now it’s time for the distillery’s first bottling, Torabhaig Legacy 2017, to see the light of day.

Torabhaig is rather larger than some of the other farmstead distilleries that have launched whiskies in the last year or two, with a theoretical production capacity of around half a million litres per annum.

Like neighbours Talisker they are producing a peated single malt whisky, in a style they call ‘Well-Tempered Peat’.

Torabhaig Legacy 2017 is made with barley peated at 55-60ppm and has been matured exclusively in first fill bourbon barrels.

This Legacy release is the first in a series of four Legacy bottlings to come over the next few years that will take us up to the launch of the distillery’s 10 year old single malt due in 2028.

Members of our VIP Club will have exclusive access to this release, but allocations are very limited - only 3,000 bottles of Torabhaig Legacy 2017 will be available in the UK market - so unfortunately there won’t be enough for everyone and it is limited to 1 bottle per customer.

Torabhaig Legacy 2017 will go live on our site on Friday 19th February 10am.
