A lovely old 1 litre bottle of 1990s Macallan 12-year-old, this is the classic core range bottling from the era for Macallan aficionados who miss the days when everything was 100% sherry-matured.
These 12-year-old Macallans were primarily for export markets and travel retail, which is why they were usually bottled at 43% (whereas the popular 10-year-old of the day was only 40%) and in 75cl or litre bottles. This meant that they were harder to get in the UK and was another contributing factor to their high demand and popularity among fans of classic rich sherried Speyside malt whisky.
