Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 53%
This 1975 40-year-old is the oldest expression in the 2016 batch 13 release from Benriach.
It's from a single cask Sherry butt with a yield of 511 bottles.
On the nose, it's bursting with tropical fruits and ripe banana with the most distant hint of campfire embers.
On the palate, there is plum skins, dark raisins and hints of yellow pear that holds a robust peat reek. Rich vintage leather and old oaky characters add a classic aged depth.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
