Cooper's Choice is a range of independently-bottled single malt whiskies bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company Ltd, founded in Glasgow in 1992. The company quickly made a name for themselves as one to watch with successful early bottlings from both well-known and at-the-time unsung distilleries including eye-opening gems like Ardbeg 1976, Springbank 1975, Port Ellen 1983 and Tomatin 1974.
Throughout the 1990s Cooper's Choice continued to release a wide range of well-received bottlings often from closed distilleries including Glenury Royal, Convalmore and Millburn and rarely-bottled blue chip distilleries like Dalmore, Glenlivet and Highland Park.
In the early years of this century the company released highly-rated sherried vintages from the likes of Longmorn, Macallan, Highland Park and Strathisla that are still highly sought after.
As it approaches its 30th anniversary, the Cooper's Choice range continues to impress with releases from lost distilleries like Littlemill and undiscovered gems such as Glen Elgin and Tormore. The company has in recent years fully embraced the art of wine cask finishing and a large proportion of recent single malt whisky releases from the company have seen a second maturation.
