Whisky Tasting Events

Whisky Tastings are a great way to try themed flights of whisky, whether a ‘vertical’ range of single malts from the same distillery or a selection of brilliant drams from independent bottlers. Although Whisky-Online have been organising great whisky tasting events in our home town of Blackpool since 2008, in 2018 we kicked it up a notch when we began a full schedule of tastings at Blackpool’s Imperial Hotel.

These superb whisky tastings featured high calibre guest hosts from across the spectrum of the whisky world including Ronnie Cox from Berry Bros. & Rudd and Fred Laing from Douglas Laing. Our tastings usually include between six and nine whiskies and past events have included Burns Night tastings with Haggis, Neeps and Tatties accompanying the whisky. The events often concluded with a charity raffle of special whisky-related goodies in aid of local causes such as Blackpool’s Trinity Hospice.  

Virtual Whisky Tastings

In 2020, the Covid-19 restrictions necessitated a change of strategy for our whisky tastings, but our splendid events continued online, including virtual tasting sessions with exciting new distilleries Ardnamurchan and Isle of Raasay, and a memorable Burns Night whisky tasting with industry legend Doug McIvor of Berry Bros. & Rudd. 

These Virtual Whisky Tastings have been amazingly popular, and after a brief hiatus during 2024 we’re doing it all again bigger and better in 2025, with online sessions due roughly once a month and a slate of great upcoming events including some fantastic Old & Rare Whisky Tastings in the pipeline.

VIP Tasting Club

The enormous popularity of our online whisky tastings has led to a huge demand for these events, far exceeding the tickets we have available. Therefore, in order to give our regular attendees first refusal, our virtual whisky tastings will now be offered under our VIP Tasting Club. Customers who have attended a tasting with us in the past, whether this was at a physical whisky tasting event or online, will have exclusive access to tickets for the first 24 hours. After this time, tickets will be published on our website for general sale.
