Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 50.4%
Back In Stock 1-8-2024
A single cask Banff 1976 46-year-old Highland single malt whisky bottled in 2023 by Gordon & MacPhail for their splendid Private Collection range. This was bottled as part of the company's Recollection Series #2, an annual limited release from The Private Collection celebrating lost distilleries.
This 46-year-old Banff 1976 came from a refill sherry butt bottled without colouring or chill filtration. Cask 2887 gave up just 109 bottles at its natural cask strength of 50.4% and looks like a must-have for fans of this classic lost Highlander. There can't be too many casks of Banff left out there now - only a handful of new bottlings have appeared in the last decade.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
