Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 55.4%
A single cask Macallan 2001 21-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 2022 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their legendary Speymalt range.
This Speymalt 21-year-old Macallan 2001 was bottled from Cask 10046805, yielding 297 bottles at its natural cask strength of 55.4%. The wood type isn't stated, but the tasting notes include stewed raisin, demerara sugar and citrus peel, so it seems safe to hazard a guess that this was a sherry cask. This will be a brilliant after-dinner dram, especially if you like a medium-full cigar.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
