Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 40%
The very first bottlings of Ardbeg 17-year-old took place in September 1997 and caused a sensation among single malt whisky fans, adding a big impetus to the growing trend for smoky Islay whisky at the time.
This is one of the earliest batches of this hugely important whisky, the first new Ardbeg released under new owner Glenmorangie's stewardship, and it's fair to say that this whisky really kickstarted the revival in fortunes for many people's favourite Islay distillery. These very early bottles of Ardbeg 17-year-old are becoming increasingly difficult to find nowadays.
