This 8-year-old Arran 2014 came from a single refill barrel that yielded 204 bottles at the Provenance standard strength of 46%. Arran's taut, biscuity spirit is delightful when young from this sort of cask, and this looks like it'd make a great aperitif whisky.

Nose:There's a freshly cut grass style alongside buttery biscuits and citrus peel. Palate:Thick and creamy with cereals and baking spice balanced by a dry smokiness.
Finish: An apple strudel style lingers on sweetly plus salted caramel and toasted oak.
