A single cask Benrinnes 2009 13-year-old bottled at full strength in 2023 by Brave New Spirits without colouring or chill filtration for their Cask Noir series, with the subtitle Ruthrie The Wanderer in Medoc.
This Cask Noir 13-year-old Benrinnes 2009 is one of 262 bottles at 57.6% yielded from finishing Cask 301374, a first fill red wine barrique from Chateau Potensac in Bordeaux, home of some extremely tasty clarets. Benrinnes is more accustomed to sherry casks than red wine, and this should have some jammy red fruit flavours to accompany the distillery's gutsy, meaty spirit.
