Bottled in 2021, this Classic Malts Talisker Distillers Edition contains Talisker malt whisky from the 2011 vintage that received an extra maturation / finishing period in casks that formerly were home to Amoroso, a special kind of hybrid sherry wherein an Oloroso wine is sweetened slightly by the addition of Pedro Ximenez.
As you'd imagine, this is the perfect match for the rugged power of Talisker, with the sweet sherry complementing Talisker's natural smoke and coastal whisky character. The Talisker has long been arguably the best of the Classic Malts Distillers Edition single malts, and it seems likely this Talisker 2011 Amoroso Finish will continue that trend.
