Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 26 2/3 Fl Ozs / 70 Proof
This is such a resinous, concentrated whisky right from the moment you open the cap.
Thick thick thick is the first impression, bags of crystallised fruits, glycerine like ancient peat aromas, huge notes of rancio, tobacco and old cognac, then a wall of fruits, green, tropical, white fruits, just and endless complexity of aged characters and flavours.
An unforgettable drinking experience. Although not stated on the label this is from the 1936 vintage, bottled in 1978 at 42 years of age.
We opened a bottle of this one year on Islay. It blew everything else out of the water, even the 1958 Bowmore.
One of the most beautiful examples of aged malt whisky you'll find anywhere. Heartbreakingly beautiful.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
