Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 43%
Arran Founder's Reserve was one of the very first bottlings from Arran distillery, the herald of the new wave of independent Scottish distilleries that has proliferated this century.
In the early days - beginning before the distillery had been constructed - Arran offered investors a Founder's Club deal where an upfront payment of £450 would secure five cases of their Lochranza blended whisky (these appeared in 1998) and five cases of single malt whisky - this Arran Founder's Reserve, widely assumed to have been assembled from casks of the 1995 vintage, and delivered to members of the Founder's Club in 2001.
A delightful young Island whisky, with tart fruit, pleasing biscuity patisserie notes and a great little minerally edge, Arran Founder's Reserve is a small but significant artefact from Arran's history, and even though it's young and lacks complexity it has an impressively distinct distillery character that would develop consistently through the years.
Please note actual bottle will vary and may exhibit nicks in the label.

2 bottles of this lovely single malt were bought as gifts. Sampled a couple of drams from one bottle and it went well above expectations. The quality, integrity, natural colour, cask strength ABV and value-for-money made these bottles 'no-brainers'.
Present us with more of these quality bottles at fair prices...and we'll buy more.
This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
