A 12-year-old Auchentoshan 2010 single cask bottled at 57.5% without colouring or chill filtration by royally-approved purveyors of posh libations Berry Brothers & Rudd.
This 2010 Auchentoshan 12-year-old came from a single ex-bourbon barrel that yielded 220 bottles at its natural strength of 57.5%. Independent bottlings of Auchentoshan are rare - as are cask strength expressions from this distillery - so this will be a double treat.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
This understated Lowlander is the perfect balance of distillate and wood throughout.
Nose: The nose gives soft shortbread and crème brûlée paired with fresh green fruit, apples, pear drops and marzipan.
Palate: The palate follows this theme, with the vanilla flavours from the cask pairing perfectly with ripe distillate fruitiness.
Finish: There’s an unexpected burst of mango and lime zest toward the back palate which lingers onto the finish.
Often overlooked in favour of the bigger, bolder Highland whiskies, this is the perfect dram for a summer’s day - ideal to savour alongside a good book in the garden.
Jonny McMillan Says
“An archetypal triple distilled whisky, very light distillate notes showing green fruits with a touch of grassiness, but the main character is from the sweet ex-bourbon wood giving vanilla, caramel and coconut notes. A lighter whisky to be enjoyed before dinner I’d suggest.”

2 bottles of this lovely single malt were bought as gifts. Sampled a couple of drams from one bottle and it went well above expectations. The quality, integrity, natural colour, cask strength ABV and value-for-money made these bottles 'no-brainers'.
Present us with more of these quality bottles at fair prices...and we'll buy more.
This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
Signatory Independent bottlers do put out some cracking whisky this is the first Glentauchters ive tried and its really very good rich long finish great value for a quality dram.
