This 34-year-old Tamdhu 1989 aged in single cask 12881, a refill bourbon hogshead that yielded just 95 bottles at its impressive natural cask strength of 54.8%. Tamdhu is more familiar to most whisky fans from sherry casks - this hoggie shows that it can mature wonderfully in bourbon wood too, and gives the distillate more of a say on the palate.
