Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 46%
A 1972 Coleburn Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 2013 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Rare Old range. This Coleburn 1972 was bottled from a micro-batch of refill American hogshead casks, yielding just 214 bottles at 46%.
Coleburn is one of the scarcest distillates around, and it's very possible that G&M are now the only bottlers with stocks remaining. Superbly rich, oily and old school, this is quite an emotional dram considering its age and rarity, a remarkably excellent whisky and probably one of the best examples of Coleburn ever bottled.
