A 29-year-old Glenfarclas 1991, bottled in Summer 2021 from a single sherry butt #5676 that yielded a very impressive 558 bottles at its natural cask strength of 55.3%. Anyone familiar with Glenfarclas will know there's no chance that this will be anything other than fabulous whisky.
As the distillery's iconic Family Casks series approaches its 15th Anniversary in 2022, it's worth taking a moment to reflect that back in 2007, when the Family Casks were launched, the 1991 vintage was one of the youngest drams in the series. Today Glenfarclas's 1991 casks are finishing their third decade but are still nowhere near the oldest in the series: a testament to the distillery's longterm strategy.
