Kentucky Owl Wiseman bourbon is an intricate blend of four Kentucky Straight bourbon whiskeys. The original Kentucky Owl distillery closed in 1916 but the brand was revived in 2014 by Dixon Dedman, the great-great-grandson of the founder C.M. Dedman, using sourced whiskey produced under contract by Bardstown Bourbon Co.
After building a new Kentucky Owl distillery, Dedman subsequently sold up to Stoli Group in 2017, with John Rhea (formerly of Four Roses) now assuming Master Blender duties. Kentucky Owl Wiseman is a blend of Kentucky Owl's own 4-year-old high wheat and high rye bourbons with 5-year-old and 8-year-old whiskeys sourced from Bardstown and bottled at a lively 45.4%. A Double Gold for Wiseman at the 2022 San Francisco Spirits Competition suggests Kentucky Owl is a bourbon to keep an eye on.

Nose: The first thing you discover is a sweet caramel aroma, followed by a warming allspice lift, a sprinkling of citrus and a hint of oak.
Palate: Offers caramel and allspice which present an excellent flavour as the mildly silky liquid crosses the tongue.
Finish: The allspice sticks around for a longer finish with caramel.
