The Blanton's brand was launched by Buffalo Trace distillery in 1984 (when it was known as George T. Stagg distillery) as arguably the first luxury prestige single barrel bourbon range, and is often credited with helping to revive the flagging American whiskey market. Japanese company Takara Shuzo bought the Blanton's brand in 1992, and the whiskey is still selected from the best stock at Buffalo Trace. These cask strength Blanton's Straight From The Barrel single barrels are always delicious sipping drams and are a must-try for anyone exploring the bourbon category.

This is beautiful! Decent sherry hit, lots of dark fruit, leaning towards ripe plum for me. Hit of mint too which I find more in heavily sherried bottles. Very decent abv. Let's face it, if it was bottled by the (m) distillery in this presentation it would cost £300/£350 minimum. Will be treating myself to anoulther shortly 😁 drop of water makes this just too moreish!
