Description

Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 1 Litre / 40%

A litre bottle of the old presentation of the much-loved Scapa 12-year-old that the subsequent 14-year-old and 16-year-old expressions struggled to live up to. This 12-year-old Scapa would have been distilled around the mid-to-late 1980s and bottled in the late 1990s or very early Noughties.

Scapa's small size, remote location and sporadic production history combine to make its aged whisky rather hard to come by; this was the last truly successful official core range bottling from the distillery and is a delightful example of honeyed easy-drinking island single malt whisky. Fingers crossed that Pernod Ricard's recent refurbishment and expansion at the distillery lead one day to the relaunch of this terrific whisky.
