Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 59.7%
The first release of Benromach Cask Strength from the 2013 vintage, this was bottled in 2023 from an assemblage of first fill bourbon and and sherry casks at a hefty natural cask strength of 59.7%.
Benromach Cask Strength has been a fixture in the distillery's core range since it was first introduced by owners Gordon & MacPhail in 2004. Early releases were old 1980s vintages from the distillery's reserves; after these ran out, Benromach Cask Strength was relaunched in 2010 using G&M's own casks filled after the distillery reopened in 1998. A potent dram from one of Speyside's underrated distilleries.
Such a complex dram, some smoke, medium finish. Great price

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
