Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 51%
An old bottle of the Bowmore 1971 34-year-old Sherry Wood edition. This was a small batch released in 2005 at full strength. A spectacular dram that was slightly overlooked on release but has since been recognised as a classic.
Bowmore 1971 34-year-old was matured entirely in sherry casks and was a limited edition of just 960 bottles at its natural cask strength of 51%. A superb old-school Bowmore, this 1971 was probably a little over-shadowed by the Black Bowmores and other treasures that came out around the same time but it's a fabulous, rich and deeply complex dram in its own right. Beautiful old school sherried Islay whisky.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
