Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 42%
An old bottle of Dalmore 25-year-old bottled at 42% in 2013 and presented in a very smart-looking luxury gift box. Somewhat remarkably, this seems to have been the first non-vintage Dalmore 25-year-old official bottling from the distillery.
This Dalmore 25-year-old started its ageing in American oak casks before being reracked into Palomino Fino sherry butts and first fill bourbon casks. After being married together in bourbon barrels, this 2013 edition of Dalmore 25-year-old received a final brief finishing period in tawny port casks before bottling, making this a triple wood finish.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
