A 1996 vintage cognac from the prestigious Delamain, one of the oldest and greatest houses in the business. Delamain are masters of vintage cognac - a fact recognised by authorities when the company retained the right to bottle vintage eaux-de-vie even while the practice was banned for other producers between 1962-1987.
The other characteristic of Delamain cognac is that their releases are almost without exception from Grande Champagne, the most illustrious production region, and are aged to a minimum of XO standard before being released, and usually much longer. This 1996 Delamain was early landed in 1998 and bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd in 2015, and will be a symphony of orchard fruit, old leather and mellow spices.
The product price on margin items include VAT which must not be shown separately or reclaimed as input tax. Input tax has not been and will not be claimed in respect of the margin goods sold.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
