Elijah Craig release only a small number of 18-year-old Single Barrel bottlings each year, with the limited stock in high demand from bourbon aficionados, so we're feeling very lucky to have snagged a few bottles of this 18-year-old.
As is customary with these limited edition bottlings, Elijah Craig have bottled this 18-year-old single cask bourbon at 45% - this particular cask #4857 was bottled 12.5.19, which UK customers might assume to be the 12th May, but which we suspect actually refers to the 5th December 2019. One of our friends across the pond's little quirks is writing the month first in dates.

Colour: Warm, deep leather.
Nose: Aged oak, spiced vanilla, with notes of mint and chocolate.
Taste: Richly textured, nutty, and semisweet. Initial bursts of honey give way to toasted wood and pleasant char.
Finish: Lively and engaging, then lingers with vanilla and pepper.

The entire Signatory 100 proof series has revealed some astonishing value whisky; this one wasn’t in the sub £50 bracket as per most of its siblings, hence the 4*. I’m not going to review it as I really don’t want everyone else jumping on the bandwagon and pushing up the price.
PS try the Speyside 13 which is a gem; I’m only telling you as I have 5 bottles already.
