A very interesting bottling of Glenturret's heavily-peated Ruadh Maor single malt. Ruadh Maor was first made in 2009 as the peated component for then-owners Edrington's Black Grouse.
The peat levels are supposedly pretty high for Glenturret's Ruadh Maor - in the vicinity of 80-120ppm - so you can expect a hefty phenolic whack from this Cooper's Choice single cask 186 from the 2010 vintage, an ex-bourbon cask 9-year-old bottled in 2020 at a chunky 58%.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
