Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 43%
A rare turn of the century 18-year-old Highland Park in the short-lived but very popular tall bottle presentation that was used between the end of the 1990s and the early 2000s.
This Highland Park 18-year-old would have been distilled around the early 1980s, and the assemblage benefited from a generous proportion of very high quality sherry casks. These tall bottle Highland Park 18-year-olds are magnificent drams, and although they're stylistically different they were often compared favourably to the equivalent bottlings from stablemate Macallan - perhaps because they're not 100% sherry matured some might say these are more balanced and elegant in style.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
