An extremely rare semi-official 11-year-old Lagavulin from the 1990s, this was a private bottling - at a magnificent 61.5% cask strength - and was
only given to associates of 'The Syndicate', the anonymous group of cask owners. How they got permission to use elements from the official Lagavulin Classic Malts label we have no idea - certainly that would never happen today!
We have been reliably informed that this whisky is from the same 1979 vintage stock as the more famous older Syndicate Lagavulins, so this bottling must have dated from 1990 or 1991.
