Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%
The 2020 release of Springbank's sought-after Longrow 21-year-old, one of the Scottish mainland's finest peated whiskies, which made its debut in 1996 with the spectacular 1974 vintage. This 2020 batch of Longrow 21-year-old was matured in 95% ex-sherry casks and was a limited edition of just 3600 bottles.
Longrow, in contrast to Springbank and Hazelburn, is only double distilled and is usually peated to around 50ppm, similar to Ardbeg or Laphroaig levels. Very little Longrow is made annually - in recent times only around 30,000 litres of Springbank's annual production of around 250,000 litres - so bottlings at this age are rarer than hen's teeth.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
