Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 43%
An old bottle of Macallan 1979 18-year-old Speyside single malt whisky, this official bottling was released in 1997 in the classic blue ribbon packaging.
The 1970s Macallans bottled for the 18-year-old and 25-year-old Anniversary Selections are all of superb quality and this 1979 vintage 18-year-old is one of the best, packed with intense, luxurious raisin and date sherry flavours. It's difficult in the face of such depth and richness to fathom that these Macallans retailed at around £35-40 at the time. These are timeless whiskies, and have become iconic examples of the richer side of Speyside produced in the 1970s.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
