A 13-year-old cask strength Mortlach bottled for the 2021 Diageo Special Releases. This Mortlach has been matured in a combination of refill bourbon and virgin oak casks and bottled at a pointy cask strength of 55.9%.
In keeping with the fantasy marketing for these 2021 Special Releases, this Mortlach is subtitled The Moonlit Beast (a reference to Dave Broom's 'Beast of Dufftown' nickname for the distillery) and the label features a wolf howling, perhaps because it's just read the official description: 'A Glowing Eruption Of Hauntingly Bold Character'.
