Lowland Single Grain Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 50.5%
A single cask 30-year-old Strathclyde 1987 single grain whisky, bottled in 2018 without colouring or chill filtration by Douglas Laing for their Extra Old Particular (XOP) series.
This 1987 Strathclyde 30-year-old came from a single refill bourbon barrel #12375 that yielded 222 bottles at a fulsome 50.5%. Grain whisky benefits hugely from extended ageing, and this lovely dram has developed a sweet, creamy, nutty palate with citrus, vanilla and spices.
The product price on margin items include VAT which must not be shown separately or reclaimed as input tax. Input tax has not been and will not be claimed in respect of the margin goods sold.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
