Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 60.1%
An old bottle of Ardbeg Supernova SN2010 Islay single malt whisky. The SN2010 indicates that this was the 2010 edition of Supernova, the second major batch of publicly available Supernova after the original Committee Release and the first general release bottling.
The concept behind Ardbeg Supernova was to dial up the famous Islay smoke, and this mission was successful, with Supernova weighing in with a phenolicity of over 100ppm. This gives Ardbeg Supernova SN2010 the same phenomenal levels of peatiness as the original 2009 release, at a slightly higher cask strength of 60.1%.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
