Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl / 60.5%
The fourth general release of Bruichladdich's heavily-peated Port Charlotte, PC8 was bottled as an 8-year-old in 2009 from a batch of the 2001 spirit matured in American oak casks.
As with its predecessors, Port Charlotte PC8 was bottled at its full cask strength of 60.5% without colouring or chill filtration, and is a mighty 8-year-old Islay whisky bursting with elemental peatiness. Ar Duthchas is a Gaelic expression meaning both Our Land and Our Heritage, and is an ancient term used to express the deep relationship of a tribe, clan or community with the land that they and their forefathers have inhabited.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes:
Colour: Chartreuse sunshine.
Nose: An updraft of sea spray and peat smoke greets you with spicy pepper and lemon aromas all exploding simultaneously. Spindrift on canvas sails with a tailwind of heather and myrtle. Then the sweetness of oak and malted barley burst through bringing calm for a while before you are swept onto the next wave. Palate – Viscous, rich and oily. Peat fire flavours and the mellow rich taste of sweet, oaky Demerara sugar toddy. Waves of Islay wash over the
Palate: An original Islay dram, unlike any other.
Finish: Dreams come true and desires fulfilled! This prodigy of Islay’s west coast clearly shows that coastal maturation is THE key element as waves of marine notes add the vital spark to the oak sweetness of the spirit.

2 bottles of this lovely single malt were bought as gifts. Sampled a couple of drams from one bottle and it went well above expectations. The quality, integrity, natural colour, cask strength ABV and value-for-money made these bottles 'no-brainers'.
Present us with more of these quality bottles at fair prices...and we'll buy more.
This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
