Islay Single Malt Whisky Bottled By: Distillery 70cl / 46%
An old bottle of Kilchoman Spring 2010 Release, which at the time was only the third general release single malt whisky from the distillery.
Bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration, Kilchoman Spring 2010 Release was a batch of 9000 bottles, and matured in ex-bourbon casks before a finish in Oloroso sherry butts. A vibrant young Islay dram, straightforward and smoky with delightful rich fruity notes from the sherry. The impressive character and development of these early Kilchomans remains a marvel, and a fine example of how to start building a quality whisky brand for the long term.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
