Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Gordon & MacPhail 70cl / 40%
From a legendary vintage and captured in its prime at 18 years of age, this is a ballsy and powerful example of this legendary make.
To taste Ardbeg from 1974 is rare these days, to taste it bottled while still in its teens is even rarer.
Ardbeg mellows like all whiskies with age, these bottlings that show it at full, potent maturity are seriously hard to find as they offer a much more accurate take on the distillate and its unique character. As a result, they are in demand with drinkers and collectors alike.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
