Duncan Taylor's Octave casks are small barrels recoopered from large sherry butts and are perfect for adding significant sherry influence in a short time, thanks to their large internal surface area to volume ratio.

This Ben Nevis 2012 began life in a bourbon cask before spending the last 9 months of its ten year maturation in one of Duncan Taylor's special sherry Octaves, and was then bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.6%, yielding just 88 bottles from the cask.
