A special cask strength Feis Ile (Islay Festival) edition of Douglas Laing's much-beloved blended malt Scotch whisky, Big Peat Peatrichor Edition is a pun on petrichor, the smell of freshly-wetted earth found in many peated single malt whiskies.
As petrichor is most common on soil after rainfall it's a pretty familiar smell in Scotland and can be experienced away from built up areas throughout the country for at least 300 days of the year.
