A venerable Glen Spey from the 1994 vintage, bottled as a 26 year old at a very approachable cask strength of 44.2% by Carn Mor for their Celebration of the Cask series.
The Cask being Celebrated in this particular instance was Sherry Hogshead 5350, which yielded just 134 bottles, the future ownership of which seems likely to be hotly contested. No pushing please, let's keep it civil.

Edradour may be the hidden gem of malts but this is a hidden gem in their line up. Dark, complex and satisfying, don't hesitate for a second, this is not to be missed at this price point.
Initial Smokey smell then a hint of pear drop.
Tried it without water and it had a sharp burning sensation on the palate as you would expect at this strength but once you added water the sharpness mellowed and the sweet vanilla taste came through.
