Fable Whisky is a range of single malt whiskies from Scottish independent whisky bottler Pendulum Spirits. Pendulum was founded in 2020 by industry veterans Andrew Torrance and Calum Lawrie along with a group of former colleagues, and took the bold step of releasing their first series of Fable whiskies in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

For their first series of releases, Fable’s visual identity and marketing themes were based around a bespoke myth, The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay is a story crafted by Pendulum and brought to life by the arresting graphics of Bolivian designer Hugo Cuellar, with the whiskies in the bottle cask strength single cask bottlings of ex-bourbon hogsheads from Diageo distilleries including Dailuaine, Caol Ila, Mannochmore, Linkwood, Glen Elgin and Teaninich.

The initial releases in the Clanyard Bay myth caught on immediately with whisky fans and received very favourable reviews, leading to further releases in the series; to date in 2024 almost 150 single casks have been bottled alongside several batches of Fable blended malt whisky.
