From the 3rd batch of releases from our friends at Woolf / Sung Spirits, we have this awesome single cask whisky from Caol Ila.
This whisky was distilled in 2009 and matured in a single ex-bourbon hogshead #319291 for 9 years.
It was bottled in 2019 at a cask strength of 59.7% and with a yield of just 470 bottles by Woolf / Sung for the Artful Dodger Whisky Collective series.
These guys bottle some fantastic drams at very reasonable prices, this is what indie bottling is all about.

This Consistent powerhouse of a distillery provided plenty of prospective casks to steal from and as ever the Dodger’s skill is in cask selection. We’ve managed to pluck this well-balanced bruiser of a Caol Ila which brings its distinctive saline smoke and bright citrus oiliness to the fore.

In the nose it is very interesting and complex but when you taste it’s just horrible even if you add a bit of water… expected a lot more from a miltonduff
