Bunnahabhain are more famous for their gentle, unpeated islay malt, but the distillery has been making peated whisky since the late 1990s. Originally these peated batches (often known as Margadale in the industry but officially bottled as Moine) were something of a novelty, but over time they have proven so popular that today peated whisky makes up around a third of Bunnahabhain's production.
This Gleann Mor single cask 2013 Bunnahabhain 8-year-old has been bottled at the great drinking strength of 50% and looks like a bargain.
