For over 20 years, Whisky-Online Shop have been reliably shipping whisky and other spirits to customers around the world. We have extensive experience in navigating the complexities of international deliveries and are committed to ensuring your order arrives safely and legally.

For international deliveries, we have partnered with DHL due to their unique capability of using their own aircraft. This allows us to ship alcohol securely and reliably to various destinations across the globe.

Important Information Regarding VAT, Duties, and Taxes

Goods purchased in the UK but delivered outside the UK will not have UK VAT added at the time of purchase.

Destination VAT and Import Duties:
Please be aware that your order may be subject to VAT and potentially customs import duties on arrival in your destination country. These charges are determined by the Customs authorities in your country and are the responsibility of the receiver.

DHL's Handling of Duties and Taxes:
Our courier, DHL, will pay these charges on your behalf and will collect payment from you prior to or on delivery. Please note that there may be a small administration fee associated with this service for handling the payment of duties and taxes.

Potential Delays and Refunds:
While we strive for efficient and timely delivery, please be aware that deliveries outside the UK, particularly to EU countries, may be subject to delays due to post-Brexit administrative issues. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds on purchases which have been delayed, destroyed, or returned to us due to unpaid fees and/or taxes, or due to any other customs or administrative issues.

What This Means for You:
You may be contacted by DHL prior to delivery to arrange for payment of any applicable duties, taxes and administration fee. Please be prepared to respond promptly to any communications from them to ensure your delivery proceeds smoothly.

All deliveries have to be signed for and will only be left with persons over the legal drinking age in their respected country.

How shipping costs are calculated

Shipping costs are calculated based on the standard size of a 70cl bottle & presentation box. However, some bottles have bulky packaging.

For precise shipping costs, please log in to your account and select your desired delivery address. Then, add your chosen products to your cart. Our system will automatically calculate your delivery costs on the delivery options page, based on the size of the items in your cart.

Shipping time frame

Our estimated delivery times are provided as a guide only. Please note that occasionally delivery delays may occur due to customs clearance. If your shipment has not been delivered within the time estimated or you have any questions please contact us.

Important Delivery Information

All deliveries have to be signed for and will only be left with persons over the legal drinking age in their respected country. Delivery times should be taken as a guide only and cannot be guaranteed.

Our courier will no longer leave a card notifying you they have attempted to deliver your parcel. Instead your delivery status will be updated online which you must monitor yourself. You can track your delivery via your Whisky-Online Shop account or by clicking the link in the original delivery email.

Deliveries can not be left in a safe place and must be signed for by someone over the legal drinking age in the respected country. Our courier can not give specific time slots and therefore deliveries are an all day appointment.

Please note that if there is no-one available to sign for the delivery and the delivery fails on 2 or more occasions, then additional charges may be incurred for any further delivery attempts.

If for any reason you make alterations to the delivery outside of Whisky-Online Shop this is at your own risk. This includes arranging collection for a service point. Please note that if you make use of such services we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen packages as this is a unauthorised third party service.

Before signing for any goods, all parcels must to be checked carefully. If the seal is broken or if the package is damaged or wet, sign carrier's sheet strictly in accordance with the actual condition. It is not sufficient to sign "unexamined". In the rare event your order is damaged or there is an issue, please retain all packaging, contact us immediately with photographs and we will endeavour to rectify any problems.
