Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Pittyvaich was released in 2021 as part of the continuing Ghost and Rare series celebrating the rare and lost distilleries that contribute to the Johnnie Walker brand's globe-bestriding success.
Pittyvaich distillery opened in 1974 but was closed in 1993 and the distillery's whisky was rarely bottled as a single malt in its brief lifetime.
This Ghost and Rare Pittyvaich Johnnie Walker Blue has Pittyvaich single malt at the heart of its malt content, supplemented by other single malts from Cragganmore, Royal Lochnagar, Strathmill, Mannochmore and Auchroisk, blended with long-aged single grain whiskies from Carsebridge and Port Dundas.
Corner of box slightly crushed.

Tasting Notes
Official Tasting Notes
Alongside the distinctive autumnal character from Pittyvaich whiskies, the sweet and fruit notes of fresh apple beautifully balanced with the delicate subtle sweetness of honeycomb and soft wood from the “ghost” whiskies of Port Dundas and Carsebridge.
Other very rare whiskies bring aromas of dark fruit and berries before revealing gentle butterscotch, stewing orchard fruits and a dash of cinnamon.

2 bottles of this lovely single malt were bought as gifts. Sampled a couple of drams from one bottle and it went well above expectations. The quality, integrity, natural colour, cask strength ABV and value-for-money made these bottles 'no-brainers'.
Present us with more of these quality bottles at fair prices...and we'll buy more.
This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
