A 1999 vintage single cask Glenrothes, that was matured for 10 years in cask #9253 before being finished in a port pipe.
The whisky was then botted in 2010 at 46% with a yield of just 360 bottles.
This is a young and vibrant Glenrothes with plenty of vanilla, spice, green notes, grass, malt and chewy richness to keep any Speyside fan entertained.

Initial Smokey smell then a hint of pear drop.
Tried it without water and it had a sharp burning sensation on the palate as you would expect at this strength but once you added water the sharpness mellowed and the sweet vanilla taste came through.
