An old bottle of Johnnie Walker Swing, the swaying bottle designed for passengers on board cruise liners, where in rough seas the standard bottle shapes were vulnerable to tipping over.
Originally created in the 1930s for export markets, Johnnie Walker Swing was revamped in the 1980s as an initial foray into special edition and prestige bottlings, a process which culminated towards the end of the decade with Johnnie Walker Oldest, which soon morphed into Johnnie Walker Blue Label, kicking off the luxury super-premium blend category.
Bottled at an easy-drinking 43%, these 1980s and 1990s bottles of Johnnie Walker Swing have an impressive complexity and texture but remain very pleasant easy-drinking drams.

Initial Smokey smell then a hint of pear drop.
