Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 58.9%
A single cask Glenrothes 2009 14-year-old Speyside single malt whisky bottled in 2024 for the UK market without colouring or chill filtration by Alistair Walker Whisky Co. for their excellent Infrequent Flyers range.
This Infrequent Flyers 14-year-old Glenrothes 2009 was finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry hogshead cask 1801, which turned out 284 bottles at its extremely robust natural cask strength of 58.9% - so it’s probably wise to have a little water at hand on the side for this one.
An exciting deep rich brown coloured liquid.
A compote of fruit together with dried grapes is lovely on the tongue.
Nicely sweetened syrup is evident too.
Invested in two bottles but will be ordering a third.
Great warming malt enjoyed by two. (One aka Pig)

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
