A single cask Port Ellen 1980 16-year-old Islay single malt whisky bottled in 1997 by Cadenhead's without colouring or chill filtration for their Authentic Collection range.
This 16-year-old Port Ellen 1980 came from a single cask that yielded very little alcohol to the angels, and was bottled at its mighty natural cask strength of 63%. These teenage Port Ellens from relatively inactive refill casks are fantastic whiskies, generally oily in texture, yet very fresh in character, with sharp citrus, saline, wet peat and balancing sweetness on the palate.
The product price on margin items include VAT which must not be shown separately or reclaimed as input tax. Input tax has not been and will not be claimed in respect of the margin goods sold.

This is a heavily sherried dram that tastes of dates and raisins with a touch of honey and vanilla. It’s pretty soft and smooth without water but a few drops seem to thicken it up slightly and add hints of caramel. Absolutely gorgeous.
