Miltonduff is a distillery we're starting to see slightly more of these days, and we like what we see.
This 2009 Miltonduff is of particular interest, having seen the very obvious benefit of a finishing period in a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon before bottling as an 11-year-old at a mighty 59.7% by Alistair Walker Whisky Co for their Spring 2021 batch of Infrequent Flyers single cask releases.
Cask strength whisky of this colour and provenance tends not to last very long round these parts, so we'd advise you not to dally if you're in the mood for some potent sherried Speyside.

Colour: Auburn.
Nose: Cinnamon, coffee beans, treacle toffee and juicy plums.
Palate: Full-bodied, rich and elegant. Chocolate truffles, raisin fudge and sherry trifle. Liqueur-esque.
Finish: Rich, lingering, with a touch of sweet spice.

In the nose it is very interesting and complex but when you taste it’s just horrible even if you add a bit of water… expected a lot more from a miltonduff
